Another simply gobsmacking pass in the Alps! Narrow and technical with wild and spectacular scenery. Know what you're in for. The road is very narrow, and in some cases quite exposed, but if you like that kind of road - as I do - it's among the greats!

The scenery will blow you away. The road is very windy in places and is extremely narrow most of the way. In some parts it is not possible for a motorcycle to pass a car without someone giving way. I have been over this pass each of the last three years. Each time the more of the road is getting repaved, so it is getting better every time. It is still one of the most dangerous passes around. There are parts with no guard rail or shoulder that drop off hundreds of feet, so watch out.

Thight and winding pass. Bad tarmac but stunning views as you are riding above the tree-line. You will think as if you are riding on the moon or someting like that. It is a great pass but the bad road needs constant attention. Nevertheless, very nice but not for speeding purposes! Check the pictures I uploaded.

From Bormio take the S42 and then S300 south towards Ponte di Legno. You can go a little further and end at the Passo di Tonale at a mere 1883 metres. On the way you'll pass over oen of the highest passes in Europs and in this area only the Stelvio out does it - The Gavia Pass, a mere baby at 2618m or 8617 feet - N46.3437 E10.4875!
