Here´s a rewarding short ride that takes you through a range of riding environments from multi-lane major roads to challenging rural sections.
Starting from the end of the Western Road and head outbound along the Greensborough bypass. It doesn´t take long before you are passing through some lovely semi-rural townships and enjoying the vistas.
Take extra care on the section from St Andrews to Kinglake; it is narrow, undulating and has numerous very tight blind corners that need to be taken with caution - but this is part of the challenge that makes it so enjoyable.
On weekends you can expect to find a lot of cyclists, often traveling on groups and due to the narrow road passing them can sometimes require a bit of patience due to on coming traffic.
All up, a great short ride.
