One of my all time favorite roads. Going west into the Rockies from Lyons reminds me of Lord of the Rings scenery: narrow canyons split by the St. Vrain River and a brilliantly engineered road. Right before you reach the Peak to Peak Hwy intersection keep a lookout for the ´Raymond´ sign on the left. Take it for a slow yet gorgeous ride for a few miles which leads to P2P Hwy. From there you can ride all the way to Central City and Black Hawk for some Blackjack.

Parts of this road were taken out in the September flood, I would not plan a trip on this until potentially next year.

YAHHHHOOOOOO!!! Thats what you will be saying if you dont see any traffic on this road(it comes in waves). The road surface is excellent and the corners are amazing! Tons of 35mph long horseshoes, just a blast to ride. This is by far the best road to take up to Peak to Peak hwy.
