This is a great route for 2-3 day trip to enjoy with your friends as it covers the mountainous areas of the three states. The first part starts off near the South Mountain Reservation leading to the Great Swamp via Schiff Natural Preserve and to RT 206 via local scenic roads. The second part takes you around Greenwood Lakes via town Warwick and then you start the climb up to the Bear Mountain. In the third part of the trip you will explore the Catakill Mountains passing by the beautiful Lake Minewaska in New Paltz, NY. The fourth part is all about the banks of the Delaware River and the nice cool breeze it carries along. Half way down the river you take a little detour into the Hight Point State Park and out back to the river banks again. The trip will end at Ken Lockwood Gorge, where you can take a long break and enjoy the sounds of the Raritan River rapids.
