I do like this road, main problem at the Reading end is the 50 limit and double white lines. Plenty of drivers can't handle more than 35mph so it's possible to end up stuck with limited visibilty on some corners. Catch the road on an empty evening and it's wonderful :)
I used to live in caversham and use this road a lot - It's very busy. At the Reading end the so called "Seven bends of death" are fun, but were well known as a local accident black spot so take care. There is also quite a lot of farm traffic and although rural in feel the road has lots of commuters feeding in from their "Country Retreats". Quite good but keep alert and take care.
A nice route through rural Oxfordshire. Oxford end offers numerous opportunities for high speed riding while the Reading end provides numerous bends and inclines. Also mid-way can be found a popular cafe which is popular with bikers.
