Great route for an afternoon ride. About 40 km along Hwy 3A, one of our province´s best riding roads then take a right turn off on to Riondel Road and head north. The last 9 - 10 km are on old highway that has been seal coated several years ago and the surface although is paved, can be rough and has some potholes to be vigilant for. Although not that early in the season, there is still a fair bit of loose gravel on several of the corners. Did see several deer on the side of Riondel Road. As you reach the summit of the hill going down to the junction to the ferry and Riondel Road, you get a super view of the Kokanee Glacier. When you arrive at Riondel, a quiet small village (former mining town) you can make your way to the beach at the northwest edge of town.
